There's no doubt about it, this shaver is extremely good at what it does. It's fast, close, non-irritating, and good for someone in a rush. The recharge station is easily mounted and cleans while it recharges, both of which are fairly quick processes. The charge level is relatively unambiguous, noted by the 0-100 charge level indicator, seperated by 10% increments. However, it doesn't really win...
Strengths: Easy Cleaning system.
Weakness: Faulty Electronics, Weak Microscreens that wear out after a few months. ($30 to replace)
Microscreens wear holes in them after 4months. Then on/off buttom switch would not turn off or would turn on at random. When it would not turn off, the only way to get the razor to stop was to disassemble while it was running and then desolder the motor.
Strengths: Shave as close as blades. It may take a while, but it will get the job done.
Weakness: Poor build quality in all area, look and feel, fits and noise level (loud), shake, power connector, and so on.
I love this shaver! I am replacing a Norelco rotary, which did not give me a very close shave. I have found it very difficult to get a close shave with virtually any electric shaver. Not this one! Although quite loud, the Remington MS-5200 gives me a very close and comfortable shave. I really like the battery gauge that lets you know how much power is left in the battery. This Razor's fine.
Strengths: Easy cleaning, soft pivoting heads, good screen, nice smell to the cleaner, automatic.
Weakness: None, you get what you pay for.
This isn't supposed to be a travel razor. Who said it was? Forget that guy. It's not even in the name. As if you want to take a 120 dollar razor with you anyway, let alone a self cleaning one. Come on. As far as the noise goes, this thing is a bit loud, but what do you expect? It's heads rotate at a very high speed, and it's pushing cleaning solution through the inside of the razor and then...
