Strengths: No irritation, keeps a great charge, and easy as 1,2,3 cleaning.
Weakness: Kinda big, I havent had any base units previously so, it is hard to hide away on the counter or pack away in an overnight bag.
I've been using an electric razor for 10 yrs and this has been one of the best. Right after I bought it I was telling my cousin about it and he said he cant use electric he used mine over the next 4 days and he now has the same thing. He had said that his skin just gets so red and irritated, he never had that reaction from this 8585. Great buy!!
Strengths: The shaver has excellent build quality and shave is as close as a blade. The self cleaning features works great, very convenient.
Weakness: Refill is too expensive, have to change monthly. Very noisy compared with Norelco.
The razor burned my skin after the first use, but I used it straight out of the box, instead of running it through a cleaning cycle first. Since the first shave it has been very comfortable.

The last shaver I had was about half the price and was OK but this one is really fabulous and definitely worth the extra money. The self-cleaning feature is great and I can shave fast and get good results without making a mess. Very happy with this purchase.

I found the head a little smaller than other shavers, but that is good in getting around my face. A big man might find it too small??? It is average in noise - can't understand the complaints on the noise. Mine is as loud in the cleaner as it is shaving and then it is not next to my ear!
