Summary
Product Title: Yamax SW-200 Digiwalker Pedometer
Manufacturer: Yamax
Lowest Price: $19.40
Power Score: 4.4 | 13 Reviews
Strengths: Light, super easy to use, accurate
This pedometer came highly recommended through a magazine article (not an ad) in Shape magazine. After checking out the competition at local big box stores, I decided to get this one. The ones at Target, Wal-mart, etc. were lesser known but about the same price. I didn't need any fancy bells or whistles and this could not be more simple to use. It clips on, has a nice closed lid for when you are...
Strengths: Nice and small and seems to be very accurate
Weakness: No negative feedback so far.
I have been wearing the pedometer for several days and I even forget that I am wearing it. Nice instruction manual showing the correct and incorrect ways to attach the pedometer to your waist.
Strengths: Easy to read. Easy to use and very basic function--counting your steps. Simple design, very compact (Size of a small belt buckle).
Weakness: Meter has a cover that does not have a see through window. Must open the cover every time you want to check the number of steps already counted.
I found that if you do not have a protruding belly, clip the meter in front of your middle and it counts very accurately. Towards the side of my waist, it was off by +2 steps. It does not have a calorie counter or a memory but if all you want is a no frills pedometer, this is it. For $20 it's worth it. I like the size and when I clip it on it's so discrete, I forget that it's there. I purchased...
Strengths: Easy to read; has a leash;
Weakness: Can sometimes miss steps if not properly attached.
All I needed was a pedometer to count steps - and this one does a great job. It's easy to read and reset and has a leash (I broke 2 previous pedometers by repeatedly dropping them since they didn't have one). And best of all, IT GOES THRU AIRPORT SECURITY WITHOUT REMOVAL!!
Strengths: Seems to be quite accurate
Weakness: Costs a bit much for a simple device
I ordered this brand because it was highly rated for accuract, and I had just returned a pedometer that didn't work all the time. This one seems to work quite well, as long as I am careful to position it correctly. I did have to make adjustments for using it while "skiing" on the Nordic Trak, because it didn't count correctly when it rubbed against the NT hip restraint pad. But it's been just...
Strengths: Easy to use. Secure clip which keeps the pedometer in place while bending and moving.
Weakness: No problems.
With the guide it is very easy to calculate your personal information. I work retail and found it very secure and accurate. The first day that I put the Digiwalker on it stayed in place until I took it off at the end of the day. Even with bending I never worried about it falling off.
Strengths: Acurate
Weakness: None
I have had mine for over 2 years now - I wear it everyday - honest!! I do use a clip - it has fallen off a few times (maybe 5 times total) when the pants I wore were of very thin material - otherwise no problem!! I love it, although I very rarely walk my 10,000 steps - it makes me conscience of stepping!!! I have had others, none lasted over a few months. What I have realized over the past 5 or 6...
Strengths: easy to ware and safety stap is a plus
Weakness: box is a little hard to open when your on the fly.
this is the best by far i have used will keep testing it out very accurate when i have used others that fell flat on there face. Found this product through the paper an editoral that said this was the best for the buck don't settle for cheap this is the real deal!
Strengths: Compact, Easy to read and use, Secures snugly to waist while moving and bending
Weakness: No see thru window and sometimes a little difficult to open the cover to see display
I ordered this brand as I have had a number of other pedometers in the past that did not last even a year. While this is a little pricier, it will be worth it if durable. Optional safety strap is comforting, although unit so far stays level and has not fallen off. I am hopeful my experiences mirror all the other positive ratings I have been reading..

If you want a no-fuss, highly accurate pedometer to track your daily walking steps, this is a great choice. Research has shown it to be the most accurate on the market, used as the gold standard to judge other pedometers. The drawback is that the belt clip is made of plastic and some users report it breaking. Also, you really need a leash for it as I find it pops off my waistband during restroom...

A nice pedomoter
Strengths: VERY simple to use - just clip it on and go. Good price too!
Weakness: Depending on where the top of my pants are (waist, just below the waist, etc) the readings can sometimes be off
It is disappointing when it does not count all my steps because my pants my not be sitting on my waist. Other than that, I have been enjoying this pedometric experience (is that a word?). My eight year old daughter has one too and she enjoys checking her steps at the end of the day
