Strengths: Strong, kneading back massage. This product lets me have it! Excellent price!
Weakness: Only one: I feel the upper and lower massage range limits should be increased by an inch or so.
Exact same product at Sharper Image for $199 + taxes. Purchased via PriceGrabber, the unit went for $88 and no taxes or shipping. Can't beat it! NOTE: Always drink plenty of water after a massage. Toxins are released into your system, as the result of a good massage, and need to be flushed out.
Strengths: This product not only works through your muscles by kneading them, it also moves at a perfect pace to really enjoy the massage. It is strong and the rollers are perfectly placed.
Weakness: It does not have a button to make the rollers stop at a specific area and I feel the full back option is not as complete as I would like.
I really enjoy sitting in the chair and letting the rollers knead through my muscles. I can feel the knots being worked out and the stress melt away. There is no vibration involved with this model, it is as if you are sitting at a chair having someone rub up and down your back deeply. The seat cusion is very soft and comfortable and the black cover is very attractive. Anybody who has a sore back...
Strengths: Theraputic massage, feels like fingertips. Not the vibrating "massage" that gives you a headache. Easy to use, quick to set up.
Weakness: Only does your back, not your neck. Only one kind of massage. No heat.
I love this. I've been testing the massage chairs they sell in Sharper Image for around $800, and this is essentially the same, except you have to provide the chair! The pad fits easily over just about any chair, just plug it in, and you're all set. It will massage just your lower back, just your upper back, or alternate between the two. And it feels like fingertips massaging you, not like the...
Strengths: Massage is strong kneading action.
Weakness: Would like massage area to be taller to reach higher on the back.
We've had the massager a couple of weeks. We've owned vibrating and heat units before. This unit provides a more theraputic massage. We first saw the unit at a department store for $125. Purchased the unit online for $88 with no shipping or taxes. The control has three options: lower back, upper back, and full back. The lower back doesn't really stay low (it goes to the middle.) Upper goes from...
Strengths: A genuine massage that you can take with you.
Weakness: Does not have heating option.
My wife fell in love with this device from the first minute she hit the power switch. The kneading function separates the HoMedics unit from cheaper ones. It's well made and easy to take with you. One improvement would be a heating element. Imagine the feeling of gentle heat while knotted muscles succumb to the pressure! Ah, well, maybe in next year's model. A great buy at around $100.
Strengths: Low noise; deeper massage than nearly all other competitors; lightweight and portable.
Weakness: No so far
I was quite surprise at how well this massager works (after testing it in the store). It goes well beyond the standard vibrating models. The rotating massagers give the strong feel of an actual hand "kneading."
Strengths: It works well on the middle back whether you press the upper back or lower back options. It fits comfortably in a regular chair and provides lumbar support even when not "on".
Weakness: Depending on your height, it may or may not reach the upper or lower back for you. My husband is 6'4", and he says it stops just short of his shoulders. I am 5'3", and it works fine.
If you like Shiatsu massage and don't want to pay to go to the massage therapist regularly, this is a great substitute! Be careful when leaning against it while it is "on", as its pressure is strong and can be increased by how much you lean into it. This could cause bruising if you're not careful, but it certainly works well to loosen tight muscles. I keep it at my computer chair, and it works...
Strengths: It is convenient. It is unlike other massenger where it stays stationary. This moves up and down the whole back. It definitely messages sore muscles well.
Weakness: Although it reaches the neck area, it doesn't work well there.
This is my first massager and I really enjoyed it. After work, I would lay on my chair and massage my back and shoulders. I like the convenience that I can move it to any chair.
Strengths: High qualiy deep tissure back massage, portable, and can be taken on trips.
Weakness: Not programmable, but for my average body size it seemed perfectly programmed right out of the box.
This is MUCH better than I thought it would be. Don't let the looks fool you. This is not your typical cheap Walmart-quality back massage cushion that doesn't feel like it's doing anything. This is actually a VERY nice deep tissure massage. Dare I say it's almost as intense as those $3,000 Shiatsu chairs you see in Sharper Image (if you remove the cover) but of course it doesn't have nearly the...

Homedics SBM-200 Therapist Select Shiatsu Back...
Strengths: Good strong massage
Weakness: Does not stop at a specific point, should go higher, no rolling
It's a pretty limited version. With only $20 or $30 you can buy a SBM-300 or a much more complete one from Sharper Image... I recommend everybody to test all of them before choosing one...
