Summary
Product Title: Polar F6 Black Heart Rate Monitor
Manufacturer: Polar
Power Score: 3.5 | 12 Reviews
Strengths: Keep track of your progress on line. Accurate and easy to use.
Weakness: No milage data.
This is a great product and lives up to ALL of my expectations. I would definitely recomend this product to anyone looking for a good, accurate heart rate monitor. However, if you are a jogger or a cyclist you may need a higher model.
Strengths: very accurate and dependable, large face
Weakness: must send to Polar to replace battery
First heart rate monitor I've used. Needed it for spinning class. This is the brand and model recommended by the spinning instructor. I have small wrists, yet this "man's" watch fits. It is coded which means the wrist receiver only receives data from my transmitter. Very important if you're close to another monitor or you have a wireless computer on your bike (or so I am told). The transmitter is...
Strengths: Aesthetics, comfort, customizeability, workout "files", many display options
Weakness: Menus can be a bit tricky to learn, sometimes I've had it lose signal for a bit, tech support over email a bit slow to respond.
I wanted a heart rate monitor to help me train for a marathon, and I chose this one. While Polar doesn't specifically market the F6 as a runner's watch, it performs well enough without having to spend as much. The coded transmitter means I can wear it among other runners and not have cross-talk (validated when I was running right next to another guy who had a Polar monitor). The watch: I've seen...
Strengths: Economical, works well.
Weakness: Doesn't show calories and elapsed time at the same time on the display like other, more expensive, Polar watches.
Overall the watch works fine but the display seems less well organized than my older s610 (which is failing). It also works with my older T61 sending units which is good and it works with the sensor on my Concept2 rower as did my s610. But I'm still using my s610 until it dies because I like the display organization better. I don't like manually having to switch back and forth between calories...
Strengths: This is my first heart rate monitor. It seemed to have nice features when I first purchased it.
Weakness: Only works for about 5 or 6 workouts then heart rate signal became inconsistent. Heart rate goes to 00 throughout workout now.
The F6 heart rate monitor seems to have some flaws in the design. I visited the Polar web site and many people have the same problem I'm having. I logged an issue with customer support a week ago and all I got was a auto reply that said they would get back to me in 48 hours. I'm going to try and call next week. I would not recommend this model.
Strengths: Easy to use.
Weakness: Suffers interference from others nearby.
If you are looking for effective heart rate monitor, I guess this one is quite suitable. It has a very user friendly interface and doesn't miss a beat. When you're interested in training seriously, it is a good helper.
Strengths: Easy to wear - can hardly feel I have it on (both the wrist piece and the chest sensor) OwnZone is the greatest feature - I wouldn't buy any heart monitor without it
Weakness: Not the easiest/intuitive to operate - reading the owner's manual is a must (first time I've done it in years for any device)
I'm very happy with it. I would definitely buy it again. The beginings were a bit frustrating, but after reading the manual it all makes sense now. Easy to wear - no inconvenience whatsoever. OwnZone functionality beats all the "rule of thumb" heart target zone setting formulas. It takes same effort to get it all set and to remember what button to push during the excercise - user interface is not...
Strengths: Looks, Accurate
Weakness: A few features missing
Overall, I really like this HRM. I find that it has added motivation to my workouts. I really enjoy using the target zone feature. The one bad thing about this watch is, I cant start a countdown timer for rest periods, or stretches, without resetting my whole workout period. I just want a simple timer to be able to work into my routine. When you do use the seperate countdown timer (outside of...
Strengths: Good for moderate work outs.
Weakness: Not consistent during rigorous work outs. It stops reading heart rate rendering it useless.
This unit worked great for one week after that it does not read the heart rate accurately. I have to constantly bring the wrist unit near my chest for it to start picking up the heart rate reading again.
Reveiw of Polar F6 heart monitor
Strengths: Does everythin a runner or walker needs.
Weakness: Doesn't pick up the heart rate fast enough.
I'm a walker on a treadmill and the Polar F6 does gives me all the information on my walk that I need. The only problem I find is that it slow in picking up my heart rate.
