Stimulating scalp massage
I wouldn't say this a styling brush at all. It works best for me (I have slightly longer than chin length very curly hair) as a tool to really work through my hair before I shampoo. It penetrates my curly hair and feels great on the scalp without scratching, removing tangles and excess styling product, and feels like a mini massage. Great healthy hair and scalp tool.

Darn
First time I took this beast to my mane one of the bristle tips fell off. Not what I was expecting from a $20 Aveda brush. Oh well, I kept brushing. It's not as soft as a cheaper brush I have but it feels magical because of the wooden paddle. But darn that tip on the first use! And my hair is not really tip-breaking hair.

Doesn't detangle very fine hair
I bought this brush to use as a detangler. I normally use a wide tooth comb but lately I find I'm losing a lot of hair so wanted to try something different. My hair is quite long and extremely fine, perhaps that's the reason I don't find it's working for me. It's a very nice massaging brush but I feel my hair is too fine for such a big brush.

Best brush I have owned
My sister had this brush and I coveted it for months until I finally bought it. I love it. It brushes through tangles easily and it doesn't pull out my hair. My hair is so smooth after brushing.
